My name is Mary Moglin. I have been a Chinese (Mandarin) teacher since 2014. I am a Taiwanese Native and grew up speaking both Taiwanese and Mandarin. I immigrated to the United States in 1993, working at Twinhead International Corp. as a computer product analysis manager before discovering my calling for teaching. This finding came from teaching my daughter Chinese and volunteering as a Chinese instructor at her schools.
I obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Westfield State University in Massachusetts and attended the STARTALK Lead with Chinese Professional Development Course Program in Glastonbury for four years (2015-2019). Through STARTALK’s training, I received valuable training in teaching strategies focusing on communication in Target language (Chinese) and classroom management. I also started to teach at the Chinese Language School of Greater Hartford, teaching second grade for 6 years (2014-current).
I am happy and proud to be part of the Ubuntu Village School community.
